HETAS registered sweep covering wood burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves and open fires. £100 fixed price. Certificate issued on the day.
Whether you have searched for a HETAS approved, HETAS registered, or HETAS certified chimney sweep, the credential is the same — sweeps trained and registered under the HETAS Sweep and Service Scheme. The certificate issued on completion is accepted by home insurers regardless of which term your policy uses.
Fixed price — stoves and open fires
HETAS certificate included
All makes and models. Brush through the full flue liner length. HETAS certificate on completion. Twice a year recommended when burning wood regularly.
Multi-fuel and solid fuel appliances. Flue liner swept, smoke test, certificate issued. Frequency depends on fuel type.
Open fireplace chimney swept top to bottom. Smoke evacuation test included. Covers wood, smokeless fuel and coal burning open fires.
HETAS guidance on how often your chimney should be swept:
At least twice a year. Wood produces creosote deposits that build up quickly. The best times are just before the heating season starts and after your peak burning period.
At least once a year. Smokeless fuels produce fewer deposits than wood but chimneys still require regular sweeping to prevent blockage and maintain safe draw.
Lined flues still require regular sweeping to the same schedule. A liner does not reduce the need for sweeping — it simply contains the deposits within the liner until they are removed.
Annual or twice-yearly maintenance sweep. Full brush clean, smoke draw test, HETAS certificate. This covers the large majority of bookings. £100.
New appliance, change of fuel type, structural work on the flue, or no sweep history at a property you have just moved into. Includes smoke leakage test. Call to discuss.
